Sunday's Seven

My picture project has fallen by the wayside - I'll still post some cute ones of my little man but definitely not daily shots.

I'm a little late on this post but here it goes. This week we are grateful for:

1. An afternoon off to run errands while Simon napped with Grandma and Grandpa.

2. Any meal that we don't have to prepare ourselves.

3. Simon trying lots of new food - there is much more variety in his likes these days.

4. That the crib at my parent's has freed up for afternoon naps. No more rushing in and out to accommodate Simon's naps.

5. Getting Simon on to a more structured routine.

6. Sleeping through the night - well Simon is, not me :(

7. A healthy baby so that we could leave the house and socialize again. A week being cooped up indoors is not for us.

Sunday's Seven on Hold

For this week - Simon and I both have a virus and it's a nasty one. It's hard to find much to be grateful for in this moment.

It's Tuesday and we're over the worst of it so I thought I would come back here to do last week's Sunday's Seven and 365 Days of Pictures.

Here's last week's shots:

And the list of things to be grateful for this past week:

1. Seeing a chick flick with some girlfriends - 27 Dresses

2. Professional family photos even though Simon was a little uncooperative with his thumb!

3. Girl's Night Out at Amelia's - we used to do it every week and now it's so hard to get everyone together.

4. A big playgroup with some of the Mom's who have already gone back to work.

5. Simon making progress with solid food - he ate some chicken and pasta this week - the only downside is that it takes him about 3 hours to chew each piece!

6. We finally have an appointment to get our floors fixed

7. Emjae celebrated her second birthday!

Sunday's Seven and 365 Days of Pictures

Here's this weeks pictures:

Another busy week and so much to be grateful for.

1. More yummy recipes to add to our repertoire.

2. Simon is eating food with a bit more texture - Gerber puffs are now a mainstay around here.

3. Simon is sleeping better - we actually have a few more nights where he has gone almost right through until 7:00am.

4. A nice relaxing Saturday - Simon slept in until 8:00 (and Matt graciously let me sleep until 9:00), took two good long naps and was perfectly behaved during his waking hours.

5. Matt and I had a night out with friends - nothing fancy but good to do something different in the evening.

6. Getting the last 12-18 month size Valentine's shirt for Simon.

7. Meeting Matt for lunch on Friday - we're going to miss being able to do this when I'm back at work.

Sunday's Seven and 365 Days of Pictures

Lots to be thankful for this week!

1. Simon slept through the night 7:00pm to 7:00am - only once but at least now we know it's possible.

2. We found a daycare provider who lives three houses down that is willing to do part-time care and we feel super comfortable about leaving Simon with her.

3. We had a great meal and some socializing with Sonja, Kevin and Jen.

4. We tried a bunch of new recipes this week and we have more on the list for next week.

5. Simon got to go to the pool and splash around - we haven't had him in lessons since November and he loves every opportunity to "swim".

6. Our cleaning lady came after a month's hiatus!

7. Matt has started to prepare the bathroom for painting.

Sunday's Seven and 365 Days of Pictures

A new year and a whole new list of things to be grateful for - my one hope is that Matt and I can add an uninterrupted night of sleep to this list sometime soon!

This week, we are thankful for:

1. Great company for New Year's Eve. We spent the evening out for dinner at Fratelli's with John, Maureen, Debbie, Eric, Ann and Leo. We laughed a lot about Eric's freakishly fat hands, talked about favourite movies and enjoyed some good food and lightening fast service.

2. Matt is thankful for a hockey filled New Year's Day with a Pittsburgh win at the outdoor NHL game. He spent most of the afternoon cuddled with Brutus downstairs to keep him away from the kids.

3. I am particularly thankful that Matt shovels 99.9% of the time. I shoveled this week for the first time in 2 years and I am not cut out for manual labour! Considering the amount of snow that we have gotten this year, I have a lot to be thankful for.

4. Another turkey dinner for Epiphany - I personally can never eat too much turkey so this is a great tradition!

5. Scalloped potatoes - need I say more!

6. My digital camera - I have been snapping away pictures of Simon to have 365 days in pictures. I missed New Year's Day but I figure since it's a leap year I can still make my goal. Here's the pictures to date.

7. Matt - he really is too good to me. I napped Saturday away and went shopping and he kept Simon entertained, fed and changed. He is the best Dad and husband.

8. And I had to add an eighth thing for this week - Simon clapping. It is so sweet and the excitement on his face makes each day brighter!

Sunday's Seven

It was easy coming up with a list this week since there's so much to be thankful for at this time of year! This week we are thankful for:

1. Spending time with family at Christmas - we are blessed to have so many loved ones in the city.

2. Yummy food at Christmas dinner - Simon particularly liked the mashed and sweet potatoes.

3. All the people who spoiled Simon for his first Christmas - he had a blast and he's enjoying all of his new toys.

4. Brutus perking up a little bit when his new bed and a gamut of new toys arrived.

5. The whole Barker clan back in one city for this Christmas and many Christmases to come - Simon was particularly glad to have his cousin Braedon to help show him how to open his gifts.

6. Matt being home on holidays!!

7. All the Christmas cards that decorated our mantel and provided Christmas cheer.

Sunday's Seven

I'm stealing this idea from another blog that I read. This past week has made me realize that we have to be grateful for things/times we have so each Sunday, I'll be posting Sunday's Seven with seven things that I/we are grateful for during the past week.

This week was a rough week but even within all the sadness, I am grateful for:

1. A chance to say goodbye to our sweet little red mini Gus - they were able to stabilize him for a short time and he even managed to summon up the energy to wag his tail when he saw us.

2. Jacquie and Bill coming over to babysit a sleeping Simon even though I was home - just to give the the opportunity to sleep uninterrupted.

3. Matt being home on Tuesday so that he was able to take Gus to the vet.

4. An email from my friend Kate who recently had to put her dog to rest - I sobbed reading it but it provided comfort.

5. Lots of yummy cookies from my cookie exchange.

6. Having finished my Christmas shopping so that I don't have to venture out in the crowds.

7. Having the foresight to get Simon's pictures with Santa done early - the lines at the malls these days are crazy!
